This is what I came home to on Friday afternoon.
Unbeknownst to me, the renovations in my basement apartment bathroom had uncovered, and then accidentally exacerbated, a leak in a pipe that was just waiting to completely break.
This monster vacuum truck sucked up several feet of earth and rock under the sidewalk in front of my house, down to the water main.

I hadn't really seen this plumbing/spelunking technique before.
There was a big turnout for the party.

OK.....let me see.....another big YIKES!!!!! lmao what a new concept...plumbing by hanging...I wonder what class was taken to hang workers by their ankles and plumb? Only in Canada you say? lol
